Frequently Asked Questions
About Divorce Intelligence and California Divorce
Do I need to already have an attorney to join Divorce Intelligence?
No. Divorce Intelligence is available to anyone with a divorce case in California courts — whether you are represented by an attorney or navigating the process yourself. If you have an attorney, we help you understand what they’re doing and why. If you don’t, we help you understand the process so you can make informed decisions.
Is this legal representation?
Yes, but it is limited in scope representation. The opposing party in your case cannot receive services from Divorce Intelligence. Karen will not appear in court, file documents, calendar deadlines, or communicate with opposing parties on your behalf. If you need court representation, you need a separate divorce attorney for that role.
My divorce is already in progress. Is it too late to join?
No — and in many cases, the middle of a divorce is exactly when strategic clarity matters most. The Strategic Kickstart program (8 weeks) is often a good fit for those further along in their case. Apply and Karen will help you determine which program meets you where you are.
Does my case need to be in a specific California county?
No. Divorce Intelligence serves clients with divorce cases anywhere in California courts. California family law is state law — the rules on property division, support, and custody apply statewide, with local court procedures being the primary variation.
What topics do the sessions cover?
Sessions are built around your specific case — not a generic curriculum. Depending on where you are, this may include: how California divides community property; retirement account division (CalPERS, 401(k)s, pensions); support calculation and what affects it; custody standards and parenting plans; how to read and understand legal documents; what to expect at each stage of the process; how to evaluate settlement proposals; and how to prepare for hearings or trial.
What is the application process?
Complete the short application (four quick questions — takes less than a minute). Karen personally reviews every application within 24 hours. Qualified applicants receive a booking link for a 30-minute strategy session to discuss your case, answer your questions, and confirm the right program. Enrollment happens after that session.
Is financing available?
Yes. Both programs offer financing options. Financing details are discussed during the strategy session.
What if I have questions between sessions?
The Complete Strategy program includes between-session messaging for time-sensitive questions. The Strategic Kickstart program includes session-based support. Both programs provide access to the online portal between sessions.
Still have questions?
Apply and ask them directly in your 30-minute strategy session with Karen.
